Collapse

Comparisons of the American empire to the Roman empire only go so far, but they don’t have to be exact to be striking and relevant. I refer to both empires in the past tense as an act of grammarly prescience.

Both were based on the greatest military war machines of their time; both were dedicated to economic empire and  to the increasing benefit of an oligarchy; both subverted a semblance of republican government with the cult of an elite devoted to militarism and corporatism; both were given to socialized cruelty and greed on an epic scale; both gave rise to totalitarian government in which submission to the gods of the state became the definition of patriotism; and both collapsed on the basis of sheer unsustainability.

The biggest difference between now and then is that the entire world economic and political order is collapsing into statism and totalitarianism. But the American empire is leading the way. It has at most another decade or two. And when the American empire collapses, China and Russia will collapse also, but not all at once.

Modern empires are based on the command of fossil fuels, manufacturing and foreign consumer markets. The age of fossil fuels is almost over and so the age of empire is almost over. Green energy does not allow for empire. This is why the richest and most powerful nations are not willingly going Green. In fact, it is why they oppose going Green.

It will be a protracted and bloody transition to a world based on sustainable energy. It will represent the end of the world as we know it. And this will allow for a merciful and compassionate new beginning.

Darvish’s Guide To Understanding American Fascism

American fascism is pretty straightforward. The most difficult thing is to get past denial by dropping linguistic prudery. There is something of a comparison with the phrase, “Black lives matter”. If the response is, well, all lives matter, you have missed the point and revealed your unconscious (or conscious) racism. If the objection to the phrase “American fascism” is that any comparison to the Axis powers is banal, this also misses the point that the  military industrial complex has, as Eisenhower warned it would, come to rule our political economy.

The problem seems to be the sheer inability to grok what’s happened  since the end of the 2nd world war, and in particular the last 20 years. And this is very straightforward. The Spy and War Machine, a corporate enterprise, largely dominates the economy, and domestic and foreign policy. The corporate sector as a whole completely owns our politicians and dictates public policy.

The government is owned by corporations, who dictate the policy that spends our tax dollars. And this obviously includes Democrats just as much as Republicans. Both parties wholly support the Spy and War Machine, endless wars, jingoistic foreign policy, Islamophobia, the support of Salafi fundamentalism in Saudi Arabia and radicalized Judaism in Israel, American exceptionalism, the carceral state, racist law enforcement, wealth and income inequality, corporate control of food and energy production, and refusal to take global warming and climate change seriously. Both parties support a highly militarized and violent corporate state owned and run by oligarchs.

It’s that simple. The United States of Corporate Fascism.

O, and about King Baby Trump: he’s just the mewling and bawling version.

America’s Astrology, Part 4: Rahu’s Very Beautiful Revenge in 2024.

In Indian astrology, Rahu and Ketu mark the astronomical axis where the orbit of the Moon crosses the ecliptic which defines where eclipses are possible. This is where the Sun, Moon and Earth all line up in a straight line. When both the Sun and Moon, either in conjunction or opposition aspect, are sufficiently close to this axis, eclipses occur. They represent the potential power to darken either the Sun or Moon. They are regarded as “shadow planets”  on the basis of this potentiality to effect an eclipse. Understand that they have an interpretive value as planets that darken, obscure- and more besides, regardless of whether in a given natal chart they actually effect an eclipse or not.

But in the natal chart of Donald Trump, aka King Baby, who was born under a Sun/ Moon opposition aspect with Sun conjunct Rahu and Moon conjunct Ketu, this effected a total lunar eclipse, and one in which the Moon takes on a red/ orange hue and is called a “Blood Moon”. Thus King Baby was born with an orange astral crown. He was born at the time when the Sun’s light was obscured by the earth and the Moon was bled of light.

Both King Baby and Corn Pop have Rahu in the 10th house- and Ketu directly opposite, in the 4th house. But only KB was born during an eclipse. (It wasn’t visible at the time and place of his birth, NYC, because he was born during the day.)  Rahu in the tenth house creates a tremendous ambition, for better or worse. This depends on the rest of the chart. KB decided to run for the presidency on a promotional lark simply because he thought it would give him more publicity, whereas CP has strategized his entire life to become president. His ambition is a decades’ long calculated effort.

Rahu is the north node and Ketu is the south node, referencing the Moon’s direction when crossing the ecliptic.  Rahu is the mouth of the dragon that swallows either the Sun or Moon, and Ketu is the tail from which the luminary reemerges. Rahu is especially associated with lunar eclipses and Ketu with Solar eclipses for the reason that Rahu’s symbolism relates to the subtle body, the seat of Prana ruled by the Moon, and Ketu’s symbolism relates to the causal/ mental body, the seat of desire, ruled by the Sun. The Moon distributes the light and shakti- the energy and power, of the Sun. Rahu relates to the energy of desire as radiated by the Moon, and Ketu to the seat of that desire as symbolized by the Sun.

The Moon’s power to distribute the light and energy of the Sun is dramatized in the 27 lunar mansions, called nakshatras, each spanning 13 degrees and 20 minutes of celestial longitude for a total of 360 degrees.  The Moon spends roughly one day in each of its mansions every month.

These remarks on Rahu and Ketu are relevant to understanding what’s happening in the US natal chart.

The US chart has Rahu in the sign Cancer, ruled by the Moon, in the 8th house, along with Mercury. Rahu is the power to occult the Moon, the shakti of the Sun. This means wherever Rahu is placed in a chart is a point of disruption of karmic patterns relative to desire and ambition, and often with creative results. Rahu disrupts the status quo. The US was “born” during Rahu’s major period as the Moon’s lunar mansion is ruled by Rahu, and the Moon’s placement begins the Vimshotari planetary cycle of prediction. The very inception of the US is powerfully symbolized by Rahu not only by the Moon placed in a nakshatra ruled by Rahu, but by Jupiter, lord of the ascendent, also placed in a nakshatra ruled by Rahu. (Each of the nine planets rules 3 nakshatras.)

The US is presently in a Vimshotari  Rahu major cycle of 18 years, with about 13 years left to run. The coming administration will be in a Rahu/ Saturn cycle for the first three years;  Saturn is in the 10th house, the house of the presidency. It is a planet of old age and control- a planet which resists change but which also represents the end of things. This will be a difficult period. It rules the 2nd house of banks, financial institutions, stocks and bonds and commerce. It also rules the third house of media and transportation.

The last year of the coming administration brings a Rahu/ Mercury period that lasts through March, 2026. This is a very different combination as Mercury rules youth and analytical thinking and thus strongly balances the significations of Rahu.

The Moon’s lunar nakshatras add another dimension of symbolism and interpretative meaning to planetary placements. The US chart ruler, Jupiter, is placed in the solar house Gemini; It’s lunar house is Ardra, ruled by Rudra, the wild and howling form of Shiva, the god of destruction and whose symbol is a teardrop. Ardra signifies karma that often brings one to tears.  The ruler of Gemini is Mercury and the ruler of Ardra is Rahu, and these two planets disposit Jupiter, lord of the ascendent and the 4th house, ie the homeland, of the US chart. Mercury disposits not only Jupiter, but all the planets in Gemini. So the coming Rahu/ Mercury period in the 8th house will be extremely consequential. Rahu/ Mercury is followed by Rahu/ Ketu. There will be a great national identity crisis developing over the entire Rahu period, which encompasses the next three administrations.

The Rahu/ Mercury period is especially interesting for the fact that both planets are placed in the nakshatra Pushya. Pushya is ruled by the deity Brihaspati, lord of sacred speech. It is considered a highly spiritual nakshatra, perhaps the most spiritual of all nakshatras, and promotes powerful speech and purification of the psyche. Pushya’s symbol is the cow’s udder indicating its primal power of nourishment. This period will very likely see the election of a national leader in 2024 who combines the significations of Rahu, Mercury and Pushya:  someone young, intelligent, heterodox, creative, capable of speaking truth to power- a highly articulate revolutionary. And very likely a woman.

The year 2024 will represent the greatest American revolution since 1776. It will be Rahu’s very beautiful revenge. It will represent the overthrow of the old order symbolized by Saturn: corporatized and militarized America.

America’s Astrology, Part 3: King Baby Vs. Corn Pop

Here we have the natal charts of the contenders for the coming presidential election. I have discussed KB’s chart earlier, and so won’t spend much time on it here. He has a Leo ascendent with his power planet Mars conjunct the ascendent. He worships Ares. The Sun, ruler of the ascendent, is in the 10th with Rahu and aspected by Jupiter, ruler of the 5th of politics, government and luck. Jupiter is in the 2nd house of family support disposited by a strong Mercury in the 11th house of wealth. He was born a rich boy, and he was born during a total eclipse of the Moon, called a blood moon, because of the Moon going red/ orange during a total eclipse, and thus he was born with an orange astral lunar crown. The Moon is in its worst sign, Scorpio, conjunct malefic Ketu and aspected by malefic Mars- with no other ameliorating aspect.  Its terrible condition sums up his infantility and narcissism, in short his extreme defensiveness and his sobriquet, King Baby. He is perpetually mewling and bawling.

Corn Pop has Scorpio rising with Mars in Libra the twelfth, and Venus in the ascendent: They exchange signs- each in the sign of the other. This intimately relates the two houses. Sun and Venus in the ascendent are opposite Saturn in the seventh, and Mars and Mercury in the twelfth are opposite the Moon in the sixth. His marked tendency for verbal gaffes is clearly seen in Mars aspecting Mercury, the intellect and the Moon, the mind, all at once. And in Saturn afflicting the lord of the second of speech from the ascendent, the Sun and Moon. These two opposition aspects include 6 of 9 planets, and control chart dynamics. Rahu in the tenth, disposited by the Sun in the ascendent, signifies the pursuit of name and fame. Jupiter in Cancer the ninth is powerfully exalted, rules the 5th of politics and aspects the ascendent, containing the Sun and Venus. This echos KB’s chart; the same planets and the same houses combine their influences.  Sun, Jupiter and Rahu on the one hand, the ascendent, the fifth, ninth and the tenth on the other hand.

Rahu in the tenth is said to confer ambition with a vengeance. CP is on record for stating as a young man that one day he would become president. He has been in politics since 1973, and prepared for politics by becoming a lawyer.  His entire adult life has been dedicated to pursuing politics and becoming president. The irony that his competitor became president as a lark, with no qualifications as a politician, and without even really trying except by displaying his brutish and orange haloed self, must be galling. Notice that CP, with Venus closely conjunct the Sun- it is combust, in the ascendent, prides himself as refined and diplomatic. This same aspect makes him unconsciously patronizing, especially toward women. The conjunction is aspected by Saturn from the seventh which, among other things, gives power issues with women, and attracts him to partners who seek to control him; This aspect also refers to his choosing Kamala Harris as a running mate, whose nickname is Top Cop.

Echoes of the USA natal chart are also here: CP as a senator became chairman of the Senate foreign relations committee: Saturn the administrator is in the seventh of foreign relations, and there is the exchange between the 1st and twelfth, which rules foreign lands, as a primary quality of his personality. Remember that in the US chart the obsession with the seventh house has resulted in the pursuit of empire; CP has dedicated his career to furthering US corporate and military interests abroad.  He is the quintessential neoliberal.

KB and CP share another interesting feature: KB’s Sun/ Moon opposition rules his 1st and 12th, and combines their influence and ditto for CP, with the exchange of signs ruling the 1st and 12th. In each case this helps creates an entitlement complex in which their personalities deserve to reflect constituents of the collective.

So, who has the better chart to win the presidency?

Both of them are in a Jupiter major period, and will be at the time of the election; KB has Jupiter ruler of the fifth of luck in the 2nd of wealth aspecting the Sun/ Rahu  conjunction in the presidential tenth. CP has Jupiter in the 9th of fortune aspecting the Sun, ruler of the tenth containing Rahu, in the first. These are both excellent placements and aspects for political success.

KB is running a Saturn period as a minor or secondary influence: It is curiously placed in the 12th, along with Venus. This placement is ambiguous: it is more negative than positive- the 12 house is not known for conferring political success. But it is 11 houses from Jupiter, which is good. However, KB is running Rahu as a tertiary influence, and this restores his orange astral lustre. It is placed 9 from Jupiter, which is excellent.

CP, not to be out done, is running Rahu as his secondary planetary influence; Remember, he also has Rahu in the presidential tenth, which is in Leo, disposited by the Sun in the first. Outstanding! And CP, for his tertiary influence, has the exalted Jupiter again endorsing him from the fortunate 9th.

Isn’t it crazy how Rahu and Jupiter dominate this conversation!

In Indian Astrology, there are divisional or harmonic charts which put a given house under an electron microscope. Here are the divisional charts for the 1oth house, the house of vocation and status:

We look at the first house and the 10th house for additional clues as to what the dasha planets at the time of the election will be promoting. DT has Jupiter, ruler of the primary influence, in Cancer the 4th aspecting the 10th- excellent! Saturn, ruler of the secondary influence, is in Sagittarius the 6th; Jupiter and Saturn are exchanging signs! And Saturn is with Venus, ruler of the 1st- where the Sun and Rahu are placed. Wow! So, both Jupiter and Saturn are aspecting the 10th and both of them are conjunct the lord of the 1st, where KB’s orange crown is shining brilliantly! OMG.

What else is happening in this divisional chart? Mercury is in Scorpio the 2nd and Mars in Virgo the 12th are exchanging signs: they are collaborating, and they are flanking the ascendent, ground zero of the general election as commanded by KB. Mercury rules the 12th of clandestine meddling and Mars rules the second of resources- and the police! They are loyalists to the Orange Crown secure in the citadel of the 1st.

What about the neoliberal stalwart, the aging knight in creaky armor, Corn Pop? How will he respond? His primary influence, Jupiter, is in Pisces the 6th, a bit out to sea. The tide is out. It does aspect the 10th- this is good. And Rahu, his secondary influence, is in the 1st, which is excellent. Jupiter repeats as the tertiary influence.

CP’s natal chart looks like the stronger chart, but KB has the stronger divisional chart. Let me warn my readers: do not underestimate, for a moment, the compelling orange lustre of King Baby’s sovereign halo.

America’s Astrology, Part 2: The Sovereignty of King Baby Trump.

King Baby Trump assumed the presidency as an astonishing act of karmic intervention. His bid for the presidency was a promotional lark from the get-go; He never expected to get very far in the primaries. It was all a public relations stunt, but then destiny happened.

King Baby was born under a total lunar eclipse, a blood moon eclipse. So called for the red/ orange hue that colors the darkened moon. Eclipses occur because the Sun and Moon align with Rahu and Ketu, the astronomical points that make this possible. Thus, King Baby was born with a Sun/ Moon opposition with Rahu conjunct the Sun and Ketu conjunct the Moon. The Sun/ Rahu conjunction falls in the 10th house of KB’s natal chart,
an indication of great name and fame. But what made the unlikely and unwanted destiny of the presidency possible is that in the US natal chart, as I explained in Part 1 of this series,  Rahu’s planetary period of influence had just begun. In other words, US karma was looking for King Baby and his Orange Crown. Amerika’s destiny required an incarnation of Rahu.

Rahu is the planet of unbridled desire and ambition, represented in its fullest when allied with the Sun, indicator of fame and authority, when placed in the 10th house of the horoscope, the most powerful angle of the chart, and when associated with the lord of the ascendent. In King Baby’s case, the Sun is the lord of the ascendent sign, Leo, and is placed in the 10th house, the house of sovereignty.

But Rahu’s symbolism is polyvalent. Rahu can also indicate, besides name and fame, fantasy, glamor, the exotic, the maverick, out-of-the-box thinking, innovative thinking, creativity, the foreign, the exotic, technology, older people, the public, the astral, out of the body experiences, stuttering, senility, displacement, delusion, possession and insanity. One way of thinking about Rahu- both the negative and positive aspects of Rahu, is what can happen when the Superego relaxes control of the mind: The Id can erupt, or something new, unexpected, challenging, fantastic and innovative can happen.

The US chart is in a 16 year Rahu period, with about 10 years left in that period. At the time of the coming general election, November 3, 2020, Rahu will be the major period of influence, and Saturn will be a secondary or minor period of influence for about the following three years- right up to the next campaign cycle. Rahu is in Cancer the eighth house and Saturn is in Virgo the tenth house. The eighth is crisis and transformation and the tenth is the presidency and national status. The presidency will be the locus of crises precipitated by Rahu in the eighth.

Rahu and the eighth both relate to natural disasters, property damage, pandemics and death; We can expect these traumas to continue. Rahu in the eighth can refer to civil unrest, economic instability, loss of confidence in the dollar, devaluation of the dollar, runaway financial disaster, exploding budget deficits, public hysteria, etc. Some mix of all these will happen. But Rahu also rules innovation, technology and- more about this later,  unexpected blessings.

These karmas will come about regardless of who wins the general election, but how these karmas are met and dealt with will obviously vary according to who is president.

The Vacuity Of Religious/ Racial Nationalism

Religious/ racial nationalism is surging globally, and with more than a little help from the USA. This is hugely ironic, of course, given our putative constitutional mandate to enforce the separation of church and state. But hey, why let the Constitution get in the way of empire? In America, everything is sacrificed to empire- just like in ancient Rome.

The religious right here in the US is largely white, rural, southern, Protestant and Republican. But when Zionists are included, the mix is significantly broadened to include radicalized Jews, often urban and well educated, and many of whom consider themselves liberals. The same goes for Christian Zionists, who are much more numerous: they cross the political spectrum to include liberals, who avow hatred of racism yet embrace Zionist apartheid. This in fact includes every recent president and most of Congress, and goes a long way toward explaining the glorification of the defense budget. Of past living presidents, only Jimmy Carter has criticized Israel as a state sponsor of institutionalized racism, and for which he has been exiled by Democratic Party poohbahs.

Israel is a shining example to many avowed and closet white Christian supremacists for the astonishing success it has had with Zionist apartheid. Israel has done what no other country since the end of the second world war has done- with the exception of South Africa, but which racist experiment failed, in time. Israel remains a roaring success in state sponsored racism. The thinking of dedicated white Christian supremacists goes, if Israel can do it to the Palestinians, we can do it to the Coloreds. It is just a matter of adopting their methods. Hence, among other things, the wall.

We can thank 9/11 and “Shock and Awe” for enshrining Islamophobia as the enduring central basis of US foreign policy. Every president since George Bush has continued to support the entirely fabricated meme that Islam- and not rogue radicalized political actors, is responsible for world terrorism. This jingoistic prevarication is now largely directed at Iran as the primary sponsor of terrorism but which serves entirely to further the geopolitical aims of empire. Big Media, or corporate media, has shamelessly enabled this propaganda.

In India, the rise of the Hindutva BJP party seeks to radicalize the Indian population in a similar manner. Nehru’s legacy is  blamed for subverting India’s greatness with Marxism and secularism. The US and India share a raging Islamophobia as a reaction to the many problems in achieving political consensus in recent decades. Modi’s India would in fact delegitimize a thousand years of Indian Islamic history as an aberration that must be corrected. This absurdist propaganda nonetheless has considerable traction in India- and among Hindu chauvinists elsewhere.

Interestingly, this support comes from unexpected quarters in the most vocal and obnoxious way imaginable. David Frawley, founder of the American Institute of Vedic Studies based in Santa Fe, NM, is a convert to Hinduism and a priest in that faith. He has become more Hindu than the Shankaracharya (roughly, a Hindu Pope) in his utterly dogmatic insistence than Hinduism alone is appropriate to guide India’s destiny. This completely reverses the premise of modern India and, very importantly, authentic Indian spirituality.

India, like the US, has always, more than less, encouraged religious pluralism. The problem from the Hindutva point of view has been shifting political winds that created first Muslim dynasties and then the British Raj which disadvantaged Hindu dynasties. This spanned a time period of over a  thousand years preliminary to the time of independence in 1947. To adopt the position that the “real India” is a purely Vedic India that has been relentlessly compromised by the course of history is not simply jingoistic revisionism, but intellectually and spiritually pathetic.

What Frawley, Hindutvas and religionists so sadly get wrong is that authentic spirituality has little to do with religion – and has even less to do with politics. And that India’s greatest spiritual figures have consistently affirmed this by abjuring politics. That the BJP and the RSS- which organization is based on Hitler’s Brownshirts, along with religious figures turned politicians, and converts to priestly abracadabra- that they would lead (Hindu) India into a spiritual renaissance is laughable and highly destructive.

Ramakrishna, Vivekananda and his brother monks, Sri Aurobindo, Ramana Maharshi, and all the rest of India’s hidden and public saints and masters never got or get directly involved in politics, especially communal (religious) politics. Never.

Religionists never comprehend that the real and exalted masters of spirituality are not exclusively from a given faith, and that it is the exalted masters who represent in their person the acme of spirituality, not the religion which they may profess. This is kindergarten stuff, but completely ignored by the likes of Trump, Netanyahu, Modi and their sycophants.

Avatar Meher Baba, the descent of Vishnu into human form for our time, born in Puné, India, in 1894, emphatically endorsed a secular India and said of Nehru: “There will not be the like (the equal) of Nehru for seven hundred years”. Baba and Mahatma Gandhi met for the first time in 1931 on the SS Rajputana;  Gandhi was going to the Roundtable Conference in England, and for Baba it was the first of many trips to Europe, England and America. Baba advised Gandhi, and other independence leaders such as B. R. Ambedkar, on political strategy, particularly in regard to securing the rights of untouchables, in an independent India. Baba was also the primary source for Gandhi’s non-violent political strategy.

Avatar Meher Baba’s message of divine love has no religious or sectarian basis at all. It is based on Baba’s claim to be the Avatar, the descent of God into human form, the Prophet of our time. Baba was born into the Zoroastrian faith but placed absolutely no spiritual importance on religious beliefs and practices apart from the remembrance of God and the Master and the repetition of his/ her name.

America’s Astrology, part 1.

The USA birth chart according to Vedic/ Indian astrologer James Kelleher is July 4, 1776 at 6:30 pm in Philadelphia, PA.

This birth time gives a Sagittarius ascendent of 9 degrees in the Lahiri sidereal zodiac (not the western tropical zodiac). The ascendent is the basis for the chart as it represents the constellation rising at the time of birth; Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, which in this chart is placed in Gemini, the 7th house. It is placed there with three other planets, the Sun, Mars and Venus. This creates a powerful 7th house, and all these planets aspect the ascendent which in turn creates a strong ascendent. These planets in the 7th define the seventh as the most important house in the chart.

The ascendent is the basic identity of the nation; Sagittarius here generally speaking indicates a self identified religious and moral nation directed outward toward exploration and colonization. The seventh house indicates foreign relations, international disputes, open enemies and war; the Sun rules Leo the ninth, the primary house of dharma, or spiritual purpose, which is analogous to Sagittarius, and creates what has been referred to as “American Exceptionalism” by being placed in the seventh house along with Jupiter, lord of the ascendent. Thus, America believes it has a divine destiny to command the world.

Jupiter also rules the 4th house, the homeland. Placed in the 7th, this largely defines domestic policy as determined by foreign trade and acts of war. The pursuit of empire has always defined the identity of America.

Mars rules the 5th house of government and the 12th of foreign lands and the surveillance state; Venus rules the 6th house of labor, unions, healthcare, debt, and the armed forces including the police. It also rules the 11th house of collective ideals, desires and Congress. All these areas find their focus through the seventh house of international trade and wars of aggression.

But all these planetary energies and the houses they rule are ruled in turn by Mercury, lord of the 7th house, which is placed in Cancer the 8th along with Rahu. The 8th rules public health, pandemics, public catastrophes, the national debt, taxation, pensions, Social Security, and financial relations with other nations. Mercury also rules the 10th house, the president and national reputation. This creates the historical tendency for the president to aggrandize power to his office, especially the power to wage war. That is to say, Mercury, which rules both the executive branch and foreign policy based on trade, is completely given by its placement in the 8th and conjunction with Rahu to fantastic and even insane impulses which loot the Treasury.

Neither Mercury nor Rahu do well in the sign Cancer: It is the worst sign placement for both of them. Mercury here signifies administrative incapacity, and is aggravated by Rahu which signifies a public desire and imagination which “wants the Moon”. It is a prescription for terribly sentimental and impractical policies having to do with all the significations of the 8th house, which can be summarized as public policy based on taxation and the budget.

Mercury and the houses it rules are ruled by the Moon placed in Aquarius the 3rd, which is 8 houses away from Mercury. 8 is the number of crisis and transformation, and here the crisis essentially lies in the third house of media serving the interests of a corporate war policy and catastrophe. The third house in turn is ruled by Saturn, also placed 8 houses away, in the 10th house of the presidency. Waging war by manipulating the media is the presidential path to power.

Vedic/Indian astrology has a predictive tool based on the moon’s longitude at birth; it is called the Vimshottari dasha system. It is a 120 year repeating sequence ruled by the 9 planets , Sun through Saturn and including the lunar nodes, Rahu and Ketu. The karmas of each planet have a duration in which their influence becomes powerfully focused.  The idea is that the Moon symbolizes the subtle body which animates the physical body and events by  “measuring out” the karmas symbolized by the other planets in a predictable sequence. Occultists say that the US’ karma is largely a reprise of Atlantean karma.

Well, guess what planet the US chart is now being predominantly influenced by? The most problematic planet in the US chart, Rahu. The lunar nodes represent astronomical points at which eclipses occur when the Sun and Moon align along their axis. Rahu is specifically the power to darken the mind- the Moon, and Ketu the power to darken, or still, the causal body- the Sun.

The US began a 16 year Rahu cycle in Sept., 2015. Very badly placed in Cancer the 8th house, the house of crisis and transformation as reflected in taxation, the budget and all things related to the money supply, Rahu is bedfellows with Mercury, lord of the 7th and 10th, the domains of foreign policy, the presidency and national stature.

And then came Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States of America.

The Incoherence of Fascism, American Style

Fascism, American style, is based on the incoherence of empire. As the clock ticks out on late stage capitalism, aka neoliberalism, the problem of empire becomes more and more desperate. The only strategy left to prop up our enormous political and economic rot is to go full-on Orwellian. Good students of language and politics see this at once.

But many do not. In fact, most do not- even educated elites. American politics has been drifting to the right for decades. So much so, Democrats are now way to the right of Republicans, historically considered. There is no major- or even minor, party (except for the Green Party, which has never gotten more than 2.6% of the vote in a general election) which now represents the working class. There is no significant party which represents democracy or egalitarianism, let alone a party that can articulate the compelling argument for promoting peace and going green.

Both parties are fully in thrall to corporatism and militarism as the defining basis of  both domestic and foreign policy. The malignant trillion dollar defense budget, most of which is outsourced to corporations, sets the agenda for political and domestic life. And the rhetoric of patriotism has doubled down on the need to return to a mythic America that has only existed in the fervid brains of jingoistic marketers.

There is the overarching lie of the free market, when there is no free market. The economy is totally rigged to benefit the rich and powerful, i.e. corporatists. There is the overarching lie of the need to protect “the American way of life”, a life based on “freedom” which is under perpetual attack, when the opposite is true: the US perpetually foments war to fill coffins and coffers by all means violent, overt and covert. Our elections are touted as democracy in action, when they are an extremely bad joke. We claim to be peaceful and law abiding but have the world’s largest gulag of prisons and have the highest per capita incarceration rate as the direct result of a racist criminal justice system.

We claim- that is the president and Congress, to champion human and civil rights, and to especially eschew and condemn anti-Semitism, when we support decades-long virulent and vicious apartheid in the case of Israel (remember, Arabs are Semites). We claim to champion freedom of speech and religion but endorse the world’s greatest Spy Machine and have supported raging Islamophobia as a foreign and domestic policy for decades.

In fact, America is run on Orwellian conspiracy theories which despite being fantastic, are acted upon with the greatest gravity and patriotic zeal.  Liberals champion Russiagate as a narrative of choice as it absolves them from complicity in King Baby’s reign. Conservatives protest that government is useless, after kneecapping it. Big Media loves the bitter political polarization and perpetual crisis for the fantastic revenue it generates, like manna from heaven. But the net result is a weary and angry public which knows it is being relentlessly lied to, but can’t prove it. It doesn’t really want perpetual war and the surveillance state; it doesn’t really want an America armed to the teeth, engaged in massacres and suicide; it doesn’t really want an insufferably low minimum wage, employer based health care, oligarchy, the ravaging of environment, denial of global warming and looming global catastrophe.

But the incoherence of fascism, American style makes it so.

Sustainability is the global crisis of our time. The machine age, symbolized by the automobile, is carrying us off the cliff. We, the lemmings, are driving the car. It really does seem as if we are powerless to slam on the brakes.

Followers of Meher Baba can take hope, if that’s the right phrase and attitude, in Baba’s two car accidents; one in Prague, Oklahoma on May 24, 1952 and the other in Satara, India on December 2, 1956. Baba and several of his disciples suffered severe injuries, and one died in the Indian accident. Baba said of his injuries that the machine broke his bones in order for him to break the backbone of the machine age. About the Oklahoma accident, Baba said “America has long been clamoring for my blood.” This accident began as a cross country car trip that started in the Carolinas and which happened to retrace the route of the Trail of Tears, the forced removal of Cherokee and other native tribes to Oklahoma. His beloved and most important disciple, Mehera, also suffered severe injuries, especially to her face and skull. They both shed blood on American soil.

Baba claims he slammed the brakes on the machine age. We have to wait and see what that entails. In 1954 at Meherabad, India, Baba issued his Final Declaration. This was two years after the accident in America and two years before the accident in India. This is one of the most intriguing and arresting statements he ever made.

The Final Declaration announces that he will suffer a strange disease which will cause his humiliation, result in the breaking of his silence (a decades’ long physical silence), effect his violent death and result in his glorification. And immediately before or after the breaking of his silence, 3/4 of the world will be destroyed. This series of events will be of a short duration, and is referred to as his Manifestation, which will be followed by 700 years of increasing love and peace, after which he will return again which will be the juncture of the beginning and end of a cycle of cycles, representing billions of years.

This announcement was amended by two subsequent announcements, a Clarification and a Confirmation, which state that the Final Declaration was given in both his language and our language, and is not all to be taken literally.

Baba dropped the body in 1969, 15 years after the Final Declaration.

The Avatar is the Sustainer, the Preserver and Protector of all. Each of his advents makes the adjustments necessary for creation to continue. Our machine age is increasingly being recognized as an extreme crisis in sustainability that cannot continue for much longer. The brakes are being slammed.

Age of Orwellian Shitfuckery

We are well into the age of Orwellian shitfuckery. A good start date for this age is 9/11/2001. This marks the symbolic crashing of the corporate state and the consequent panic that elevated demagoguery as the primary basis for a US foreign policy devoted to empire. 9/11 and the resulting campaign of  “Shock and Awe” plunged America into a state of continuous carnage and lying.

This shitfuckery initiated by George W. Bush was continued by Obama who, like Bill Clinton before him, sanitized the neoliberal project as a bipartisan affair, but which was rudely exposed by King Baby Trump to conceal the neofascism we now find ourselves wallowing in. The neoliberal state lead directly to the neofascist state.

How did this transformation happen? It was very simple. The failing corporate state embraced militarism so ardently on a bipartisan basis for so long  and with such committed lying that the political birth of King Baby Trump emerged as a magnificent turd. A really beautiful, beautiful turd.

Orwellian shitfuckery of corporatism, militarism and racism regaled by a compliant Big Media as patriotism has become normalized. This is who we now are. King Baby may stay or go, but the corporate state in support of the Spy and War Machine will remain. We will remain eternal friends with the religious and racial fascism of Saudi Arabia and Israel. We will continue to be completely bamboozled and bullied by our inverted definition of anti-Semitism  to believe that institutionalized racism in the name of the Terror Wars and Zionist apartheid is perfectly legitimate- even to the point of supporting war crimes as a patriotic duty.

There is no end to the age of shitfuckery as long as we refuse to give up the racialized corporate state and its embrace of death in exploiting the earth and laborers in pursuit of  greed. We would rather die in a global bonfire of shitfuckery.
