America’s Astrology, Part 3: King Baby Vs. Corn Pop

Here we have the natal charts of the contenders for the coming presidential election. I have discussed KB’s chart earlier, and so won’t spend much time on it here. He has a Leo ascendent with his power planet Mars conjunct the ascendent. He worships Ares. The Sun, ruler of the ascendent, is in the 10th with Rahu and aspected by Jupiter, ruler of the 5th of politics, government and luck. Jupiter is in the 2nd house of family support disposited by a strong Mercury in the 11th house of wealth. He was born a rich boy, and he was born during a total eclipse of the Moon, called a blood moon, because of the Moon going red/ orange during a total eclipse, and thus he was born with an orange astral lunar crown. The Moon is in its worst sign, Scorpio, conjunct malefic Ketu and aspected by malefic Mars- with no other ameliorating aspect.  Its terrible condition sums up his infantility and narcissism, in short his extreme defensiveness and his sobriquet, King Baby. He is perpetually mewling and bawling.

Corn Pop has Scorpio rising with Mars in Libra the twelfth, and Venus in the ascendent: They exchange signs- each in the sign of the other. This intimately relates the two houses. Sun and Venus in the ascendent are opposite Saturn in the seventh, and Mars and Mercury in the twelfth are opposite the Moon in the sixth. His marked tendency for verbal gaffes is clearly seen in Mars aspecting Mercury, the intellect and the Moon, the mind, all at once. And in Saturn afflicting the lord of the second of speech from the ascendent, the Sun and Moon. These two opposition aspects include 6 of 9 planets, and control chart dynamics. Rahu in the tenth, disposited by the Sun in the ascendent, signifies the pursuit of name and fame. Jupiter in Cancer the ninth is powerfully exalted, rules the 5th of politics and aspects the ascendent, containing the Sun and Venus. This echos KB’s chart; the same planets and the same houses combine their influences.  Sun, Jupiter and Rahu on the one hand, the ascendent, the fifth, ninth and the tenth on the other hand.

Rahu in the tenth is said to confer ambition with a vengeance. CP is on record for stating as a young man that one day he would become president. He has been in politics since 1973, and prepared for politics by becoming a lawyer.  His entire adult life has been dedicated to pursuing politics and becoming president. The irony that his competitor became president as a lark, with no qualifications as a politician, and without even really trying except by displaying his brutish and orange haloed self, must be galling. Notice that CP, with Venus closely conjunct the Sun- it is combust, in the ascendent, prides himself as refined and diplomatic. This same aspect makes him unconsciously patronizing, especially toward women. The conjunction is aspected by Saturn from the seventh which, among other things, gives power issues with women, and attracts him to partners who seek to control him; This aspect also refers to his choosing Kamala Harris as a running mate, whose nickname is Top Cop.

Echoes of the USA natal chart are also here: CP as a senator became chairman of the Senate foreign relations committee: Saturn the administrator is in the seventh of foreign relations, and there is the exchange between the 1st and twelfth, which rules foreign lands, as a primary quality of his personality. Remember that in the US chart the obsession with the seventh house has resulted in the pursuit of empire; CP has dedicated his career to furthering US corporate and military interests abroad.  He is the quintessential neoliberal.

KB and CP share another interesting feature: KB’s Sun/ Moon opposition rules his 1st and 12th, and combines their influence and ditto for CP, with the exchange of signs ruling the 1st and 12th. In each case this helps creates an entitlement complex in which their personalities deserve to reflect constituents of the collective.

So, who has the better chart to win the presidency?

Both of them are in a Jupiter major period, and will be at the time of the election; KB has Jupiter ruler of the fifth of luck in the 2nd of wealth aspecting the Sun/ Rahu  conjunction in the presidential tenth. CP has Jupiter in the 9th of fortune aspecting the Sun, ruler of the tenth containing Rahu, in the first. These are both excellent placements and aspects for political success.

KB is running a Saturn period as a minor or secondary influence: It is curiously placed in the 12th, along with Venus. This placement is ambiguous: it is more negative than positive- the 12 house is not known for conferring political success. But it is 11 houses from Jupiter, which is good. However, KB is running Rahu as a tertiary influence, and this restores his orange astral lustre. It is placed 9 from Jupiter, which is excellent.

CP, not to be out done, is running Rahu as his secondary planetary influence; Remember, he also has Rahu in the presidential tenth, which is in Leo, disposited by the Sun in the first. Outstanding! And CP, for his tertiary influence, has the exalted Jupiter again endorsing him from the fortunate 9th.

Isn’t it crazy how Rahu and Jupiter dominate this conversation!

In Indian Astrology, there are divisional or harmonic charts which put a given house under an electron microscope. Here are the divisional charts for the 1oth house, the house of vocation and status:

We look at the first house and the 10th house for additional clues as to what the dasha planets at the time of the election will be promoting. DT has Jupiter, ruler of the primary influence, in Cancer the 4th aspecting the 10th- excellent! Saturn, ruler of the secondary influence, is in Sagittarius the 6th; Jupiter and Saturn are exchanging signs! And Saturn is with Venus, ruler of the 1st- where the Sun and Rahu are placed. Wow! So, both Jupiter and Saturn are aspecting the 10th and both of them are conjunct the lord of the 1st, where KB’s orange crown is shining brilliantly! OMG.

What else is happening in this divisional chart? Mercury is in Scorpio the 2nd and Mars in Virgo the 12th are exchanging signs: they are collaborating, and they are flanking the ascendent, ground zero of the general election as commanded by KB. Mercury rules the 12th of clandestine meddling and Mars rules the second of resources- and the police! They are loyalists to the Orange Crown secure in the citadel of the 1st.

What about the neoliberal stalwart, the aging knight in creaky armor, Corn Pop? How will he respond? His primary influence, Jupiter, is in Pisces the 6th, a bit out to sea. The tide is out. It does aspect the 10th- this is good. And Rahu, his secondary influence, is in the 1st, which is excellent. Jupiter repeats as the tertiary influence.

CP’s natal chart looks like the stronger chart, but KB has the stronger divisional chart. Let me warn my readers: do not underestimate, for a moment, the compelling orange lustre of King Baby’s sovereign halo.
