Rumi quatrain, #923 Foruzanfar

I did not enter your orchard as a picker:
I am darvish of empty hands, a qalandar;
If you want me to get out, then open the gate;
And if you don’t open it, kick out the doubter!

Rumi quatrain, #823 Foruzanfar

Word arrives from the Friend, He is with you!
Sparks fly in the heart, because of this news!
But you don’t know yourself, and remain sad;
Know yourself- and what else but fire is yours!

و هو معکم از و خبر میآید
در سینه ازین خبر شرر میآید
زآنی ناخوش که خویش نشناخته
چون بشناسی دگر چه در میآید

note: the Word that arrives from the Friend
is a Koranic reference: And He is with you, wherever you may be.

Rumi quatrain, #1627 Foruzanfar

O Prince of the world’s great beauties- Amen!
And all peace and comfort of the Soul- Amen!
O You-  the one before whose face each dawn,
The rising of the world’s sun declares, Amen!

ای میر ملیحان جهان شی الله
وی راحت و آرامش جان شی الله
ای آنکه بهر صبح بپیش رخ تو
می گوید خورشید جهان شی الله

ِRumi, #1164 Foruzanfar

I am not crazy, but they create such doubt;
I am not a stranger, but they drive me out!
Like the religious police working night shift,
They are drunk, and have become confused louts!

دیوانه نیم ولیک میخانندم
بیگانه نیم ولیک میرانندم
همچون عسسان بجهد در نیمشبان
مستند ولی چو روز میدانندم

Rumi, #1437 Foruzanfar

I said to heart, if you have occasion to speak,
Reveal my pain to the Friend during your talk;
Heart said, at the time of union with the Friend
My gazing will all speech completely forsake!

با دل گفتم  اگر بود جای سخن
با دوست غمم بگو در اثنای سخن
دل گفت بگاه وصل با یار مرا
نبود ز نظاره هیچ پروای سخن

Sieze, O heart, the bridle of that spiritual king;
Say, “be my guest tonight- O moon like darling!”
If he says, “tomorrow,” ignore him and retort
“God is all strength, and he is overpowering!”

Rumi #1776, Foruzanfar

I ambled with my love through the garden,
And stole a glance at the rose with such sin
The owner of my heart shouted out, shame
On your ogling, with my perfect, rouged skin!

Rumi #336, Forunzafar

Each dear soul who is acquainted with the way,
Knows all that comes to pass is divine play;
Why blame the wheeling sky and its children-
This wheel of its own has led no one astray!

Rumi #363, Forunzafar

O Soul, do you know who the Beloved is?
And O heart, do you know who the Guest is?
O body, while you seek a way, with every trick
He embraces you! Know who the Seeker is!

The Water Snake has slithered into our calendar

The Water Snake has slithered into our calendar,
And begins to coil the days into a sepulcher.

All the gold hoarded by Dragon already rolls
Out of Wall St banks into the dark caves of trolls.

The flying robots of Big Fist continue to kill
Innocents, and the blood of democracy spill.

Petty and grand tyrants have Moloch in common,
As children are sacrificed to the rage of men.

We have invested with care in the future of hate,
But pray that the God of peace smile on our fate.

Singular idiots in the age of double think,
Our rhetoric is full of unbelievable stink!

As the love of Thanatos coils around the neck,
Darvish whirls and whirls to stay among the quick.
